Design.Build.Fly.

UVA's student-run satellite team. We take spacecraft from requirements through design review, integration, and flight — and we are recruiting across every major.

Who we are

The University of Virginia CubeSat Team

CavSat is run start to finish by undergraduates. We design primary structures, lay out avionics, write flight firmware and ground station software, model descent and recovery, and hold the mass, power, and link budgets that tie it together.

Six subteams work under a systems lead who owns the requirements and the interfaces between them. The design is defended at preliminary and critical design review before anything is cleared to fly.

How the team is organised
