How it works
How the team is organised
CavSat is entirely student-run. Undergraduates hold every technical role: systems, structures, avionics, flight software, comms, and recovery. Faculty advisors mentor the team, but design authority sits with the students.
The process is the one the competition enforces: preliminary design review, critical design review, then flight readiness. Our CanSat design cleared CDR and qualified for the 2026 competition with a near-perfect score.
Where you would fit
Six subteams
You join one and own part of its subsystem. Interfaces between subteams are controlled by the systems lead, so most members work across more than one before they graduate.
